For many years, Zemfira was the voice of a generation and one of the most popular women in Russia. Her songs - simple in meaning and at the same time very deep - reflected the feelings and thoughts of young people. The fame of the performer grew rapidly, the compositions remained at the top of the domestic music charts for months, and Zemfira herself remained a devoted adherent of art, a real workaholic who worked both day and night.

The first album "Zemfira" was released in 1999, and the last two years ago. The singer recorded it while already in exile, having left her homeland after the well-known events in February 2022. Together with Artur Ramazanov-Ostapenko, as part of the project "Zemfira from Luka", Zemfira released a mini-album of the same name, which was liked by both critics and fans of her work. The talented singer's music continues to be influenced by guitar pop, jazz harmonies and bossa nova. Zemfira's songs convey emotions and states of mind rather than carry any ideas, which allows listeners to interpret her work in their own way. In her numerous songs, almost all of which have become hits, Zemfira seems to sketch images and masterfully convey moods, and the listener himself manages them and writes himself into them. In the albums "Fourteen Weeks of Silence" and "Vendetta" echoes of industrial rock and synth-pop appeared, but in the latest disc "Zemfira from Luka", the singer did not delve into these directions. It has only four songs - "II", "Time Does Not Spare", "Aperol" and "My Friend", and all of them were written in the summer of 2022 in Paris. The album by Luka and Zemfira turned out to be quite complex – it is dedicated to a person’s experiences regarding the tragic events that surround him and which he is unable to influence, therefore he feels lonely and helpless. Probably, we all felt something similar that year, but Zemfira and her nephew managed to express it in four piercing songs of the new album.

According to the singer herself, she no longer thinks about home – she has turned that page. Unlike many pop singers who left Russia, Zemfira’s life in emigration has been more than successful. She regularly goes on tour, her performances gather full halls, and her popularity has only increased. The most important thing for her is music. As before, Zemfira reminds her numerous fans that she is a musician, not a guru, not a hero and not an idol. She is completely immersed in work – she writes poetry and music, rehearses. She needs very little to live: to be able to write music and sing. The place of residence is not important at all, as long as the inspiration and voice are with the singer. Zemfira settled in Paris with Renata Litvinova, and almost a year later the Russian Ministry of Justice added her to the list of foreign agents. By the way, friendship with Renata remained an anchor and a beacon for Zemfira, she actively writes music for Litvinova's theater and her new directorial quests. Litvinova's latest work was a song for the play "Cactus", which Parisians greeted with great warmth.
